Publix Hours for Stores, Pharmacies and Publix Liquors
Publix hours at most stores run from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week.
That held for 66 of the 82 store pages we checked on October 19, 2026, across all eight Publix states. The other 16 close an hour earlier, at 9 p.m.
Which group your store falls into depends a lot on the state you live in.
What time does Publix open?
Seven o’clock, almost everywhere. Of the 82 stores we checked in the Publix store locator, 78 open at 7 a.m.
Four open earlier. The Peach in Atlanta opens at 6 a.m., Montclair Place in Birmingham and Marketplace at Maryland Farms near Nashville open at 6:30 a.m., and The Plaza Midtown in Atlanta opens at 6:45 a.m.
If you were hoping for a 24-hour Publix, there isn’t one in our sample. No store page listed overnight hours.
Closing time depends on the state
This is where Publix stores split. Every Florida, Georgia and Kentucky store we checked closes at 10 p.m., while five of the eight stores in Alabama and five of the eight in Virginia close at 9.

Every store that doesn’t close at 10 closes at 9. Florida isn’t completely uniform either. When we searched around Lakeland, 19 of the 20 nearest stores showed “Open until 10:00 PM” in the locator. The odd one out was Publix at Northgate in Winter Haven, which closes at 9 p.m. every night.
Outside Florida, Georgia and Kentucky, plan on a 9 p.m. close until your store’s page says otherwise.
Sunday hours match the rest of the week
All 82 stores listed the same hours Monday through Sunday, so a Sunday trip runs on the same clock as a Tuesday one. Here’s the whole sample at a glance.
Pharmacy hours run shorter
The pharmacy inside keeps its own schedule, and it was identical at all 73 pharmacies in our sample. It’s open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, so on a Sunday it closes four hours before a 10 p.m. store.
Nine of the 82 stores had no pharmacy at all. The locator’s Pharmacy filter saves you a wasted trip with a prescription in hand.
And no, the store pages don’t show a lunch break. Each day is listed as one unbroken block.
Publix Liquors keeps its own clock
Twenty of the 82 stores had a Publix Liquors next door, 16 in Florida and 4 in Kentucky. The store page lists it separately, with its own hours, address and phone number.
The Florida liquor stores opened at 9 or 10 a.m. and closed at 9 or 10 p.m. Sunday is the day that varies. Kathleen Square in Lakeland doesn’t open until noon, and the Miami stores we checked closed at 7 p.m.
In Louisville, all four Publix Liquors stores listed 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Deli, bakery and pickup times
Store pages list the deli and bakery as departments but don’t give them separate hours. The deli counter is also where online orders are picked up. On Publix’s ordering pages, subs show “Ready as soon as 30 minutes,” while most catering platters show “Ready as soon as tomorrow.” Our rundown of Publix deli menu prices covers the subs, and the Publix bakery guide covers cake ordering.
Closed on three holidays a year
Publix closes on Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and Easter Sunday, and it closes early on Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, according to its newsroom Q&A. The early times are posted in stores before each holiday.

When you can reach Publix Customer Care
For anything your store can’t answer, Publix Customer Care takes calls at 800-242-1227 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern, Monday through Friday, according to the Publix contact page.
The social media team keeps longer hours. It answers messages on X and Facebook from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern, 365 days a year, so it’s there even on the days the stores are closed.
Where most Publix stores are
Florida is where these hours matter most. Publix lists 1,446 stores on its company facts page, and 897 of them, about 62%, are in Florida.
Georgia comes next with 219 stores, followed by Alabama with 97, South Carolina with 74, North Carolina with 63, Tennessee with 62, Virginia with 24 and Kentucky with 10.
