Publix Guides publishes independent, practical guides to shopping at Publix: what things cost, how to order, when stores and departments are open, and how the deals work. This page explains how we research, write, check and update those guides.
Who writes our guides
Guides are written and edited by the Publix Guides team. Every guide shows its author and the date it was last updated.
How we research
Publix’s own pages come first: the online ordering pages for the deli, catering and bakery, store and pharmacy hours in the store locator, the weekly ad, the holiday meals page, and Publix’s FAQs and news releases. We add reputable news coverage when Publix announces a change.
Prices on publix.com depend on the store you select, so we name the store or area a price came from, or give the range across the stores we checked. Hours work the same way: we give the pattern most stores follow and show you how to confirm your own store’s hours.
How we check facts
Every price, hour, date and policy detail is checked against a live source before a guide is published or updated, and we keep a record of the source and the date we checked it. If we can’t confirm something, we leave it out rather than guess.
We don’t describe store visits, purchases or tastings unless they actually happened. When a guide reports what shoppers or employees say, it tells you where that comes from. Numbers we work out ourselves, such as the cost per person of a platter, are labeled as our own math, with the inputs shown.
Updates and corrections
Guides to weekly deals are updated each week when the new weekly ad starts, which is Wednesday or Thursday depending on the store. Holiday hours are rechecked about two weeks before each holiday. Other guides are reviewed when Publix changes a price, policy or program.
If you spot an error, tell us through our contact page. We correct mistakes promptly, and the guide’s updated date changes when we do.
Independence and advertising
Publix Guides is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Publix Super Markets, Inc., and Publix doesn’t review or approve our guides. The site is supported by display advertising, which may include Google AdSense. Advertisers don’t influence what we write, and ads are kept separate from our content. If a guide ever includes affiliate links, it will say so.
What we can’t help with
We aren’t Publix customer service, so we can’t help with orders, refunds, prescriptions or accounts. For those, please contact Publix directly through publix.com.
